I am extremely careful what i wish for, but considering tdomer's get very li
of what they wish for (or nothing). I feel these ideas will
be ignored.
For the past SEVERAL months the imms have been balancing gameplay on this mud.
It started by looking at the classes and making them a little more equal,
hopefully by limiting what they can do or taking away some of the power in
the good skills (i.e. spell damage, cs bonuses). Not much tweaking was done
in any of the areas, while there are examples of this, it has relatively
been left alone. On the flip side many changes for level 25+ players have
gone in. At first it was only seen in mucks and the knight tree with
grond and thumper respectively. I feel that the addition of Ahab and the
various new thumpers in nv, wood nymphs and where ever else they have taken
a step back from balancing, in fact breaking the scale entirely.
Ask Morg how often he prays the mud doesn't freeze up walking through
silicia, not to kill stuff, but merely to get to JP. Now the same situation
occurs in the northern village. If an attitude player wants to go to the
ice pirates, frost giants, the eye of death, mudesa, or the white dragon.
They must take the risk of getting THUMPED.
Another element of the game is getting attd by mobs. Again over the past
months quite a few new mobs and nice pieces of eq has been added to the
database. Unfortunatily some of the mobs have been popping in awful areas.
Voltron likes to pop close to town with spawn, mother nature and several
other mobs, least the other mobs are manageable. When the previous 3 nail
you it is a mud affair to 'attempt' to get the eq back (did Xira ever get
her eq back?). I remember on a few occasions Voltron was a walking, talking
moving red dragon (or better). Then yu got the new eq
Spawn pops the hell spawn mask, nice item, big risk, possible slaughter.
If Spawn catches you with it on, say NITE NITE, cause he is gonna do more
than just rock your text derived world. It would be nice if he just
picked up what he initially wanted in the first place, your mask. But that
isn't the case, the big dog sucks it all and you arent' just licking your
wounds, but preparing othrs to as well if you want it back.
All in all, game balance is needed and accepted, but if to much is done
is it really worth it? It would be awesome to see mobs who hunt eq, take
the eq they are looking for, not all of it. It would be awesome if the
town guards (ahab and thumper) nailed trouble makers, instead of passer
throughs. It would also be awesome if some one got that damn beer I have
been cravin.
