Yarash's Mages' Sanctuary

A Large Landing on a Huge Stone Staircase
The staircase seems to have come to a large landing where several guards
block anyone from traveling higher into the tower without an invitation.
The landing is about twenty meters square and made of a polished white
marble. All manner of decoration cover the walls and floor. Several giant
tapestries hang from the walls depicting great battles on the different
elemental planes from eons past. Strange sounds can be heard echoing from
above the landing, but what is making the noises is impossible to know. Below
the landing the giant staircase continues its descent towards the base of the
tower, while above you is some type of fog enshrouded floor.

A Giant Stone Staircase
The staircase seems to stretch on forever in both directions. It becomes
a very thin stairway and your head begins to spin as you look over the
banister. The walls seem to be made of some strange black stone that absorbs
the light and makes traveling along the stairwell difficult. Strange writing
is scrawled upon the staircase in several places but it has faded over the
ages and is impossible to decipher in its current state. The stairway
continues to higher and lower levels of the tower for an indefinite height.
