  - New fully automated auction system - type "help auction" for more details.
    For now, the auction system is only available within the Auction Hall in
    BG, but it will be expanded to many more areas very soon.

  - You can now "togpet" to toggle ONLY your pet followers.

07/21/03              ACC for Alts and Helpfile Updates
  - You can now access your guilded char's ACC with an alternate char via
    the "assoc chat" command.  Syntax is: "assoc chat  "
    where the name and password are that of your guilded character.  This
    will show your alt on the member list and allow access to your ACC until
    you log the alt off.
  - Huge helpfile update, including all of the new spells and tons of other 
    changes.  As always, mmail Shar if you find any errors or omissions.
07/15/03              Areas Update:
  - Just letting you all know that there are significant changes in the works
    within the areas sphere.  Consider this a teaser/head's up/warning.  =]
    Specifically we've decided to try to balance every piece of equipment in the
    game.  How, you ask, can we do such a thing?  Well, thanks to Dugmaren, we
    now have an extensive point system that takes into account the item stats, 
    the zone difficulty, the quest/fight difficulty, and compares the item to
    all similar items.  Needless to say it's a very complicated process, but 
    hopefully you'll all find it very fair.  Some items will be downgraded, but
    many will be upgraded significantly, breathing new life into zones that are
    currently ignored due to a perceived lack of appropriate risk/benefit ratio.  
    I'll post more here when changes start coming in, zone by zone, probably 
    within the month.  Cheers!
07/12/03              A Fistful of Code
  - New Cleric Spell: Divine Purification, 9th Circle.  Cleanses the target 
    of paralyzation, poison, and blindness.
  - New Illusionist Spell: Sun Shadow, 8th Circle.  Blocks the sun in the
    room it is cast in, allowing races with ultravision to see normally.
  - New Elementalist Spells: Earth Fog, 8th Circle.  Summons a fog of
    dust which blocks out sunlight.  This spell can be cast 4 different
    ways - on the caster, on the room, in a specified direction, or in
    a burst which affects the current room and all adjacent rooms briefly.
    Note that when cast on self, the fog will follow you from room to room.
    Examples: c 'earth fog' me, c 'earth fog' room, c 'earth fog' north,
    c 'earth fog' burst. Many thanks to Shar for her invaluable help 
    with this spell, and the helpfile is coming soon!
  - New Elementalist Spell: Fire Fog, 8th Circle.  Similar to the above
    spell and uses the same targetting options.  This spell lights up
    the room(s) as opposed to blocking the sunlight.
  - Liches now get mage flame at 1st circle.
  - Liches are no longer affected by smoke plane or underwater penalties.
  - Liches are now immune to lycanthropy.
  - Scarlet Outline now blocks hiding, like faerie fire.
  - Remove Poison spell now works every time on regular poison.
  - Fixed Earthmother Staff proc.

  - Defensive Skills completely rewrittenm added general "defense" skill.  Check

  - Offensive Spell damage completely overhauled.  All offensive spells have been
    evaluated and converted to the new system.  The majority of spells will do 
    roughly the same damage, outside of non-Invoker areas, which have been downgraded
    by roughly 10-15%.
  - Corpses will now automatically begin to decay after 45 days - no more permenant
    landmarks.
  - Corpses will now decay immediately in the event of the player deleting.
  - Yuan-Ti racial stats adjusted upwards.

  - Small change to elementals to fix something that got changed a while back but

01/28/03              Day of Rotting... Sort of
  - Due to the pile up of corpses we have initiated some new code to clean the 
    stinky things out.

    In a few weeks, new code will go in that will cause a more normal rot of really
    old corpses.  This will ONLY affect corpses that are more than 45 days old.
    Corpses will slowly begin to decay in the normal fashion once they are this old.

    You can still preserve a corpse as long as you like, but you'll have to work at
    it to keep one around now.  No more putting 100 hours on a corpse and it's 
    lifetime presed.

    This is your only warning, if you've been holding on to that 45 day old corpse 
    looking for a res, get it now.

    be raised from the corpse of a specific mob.
10/04/02              Player Storage + SCTs
  - Added a new system for storing equipment that should hopefully make the 
    tedious use of storage characters obsolete.  You may now store up to 250
    pounds of equipment in any Inn for free.  The equipment within is of course
    saved between boots and thoroughly logged and backed up, just like Player
    Files.  Note that only the character who created the cache may access the
    equipment within, *unless* you know that char's password.  This is in
    place to ease the moving of equipment between characters, but note that
    you should NEVER give another player your password.  A help file is coming
    soon - for now, type 'storage create' in an inn to create your own storage
    cache, aand type 'storage ?' for further instructions on how to use it.
    And no, you cannot use it to transfer equipment from one inn to another. 
  - Fixed the ancient evil meditate bug.
  - Fixed a major bug with mob trip - low levels will be worse now, and high 
    levels will be better.
  - Major upgrade to the accompany skill - it will now be much more effective. 
  - Identify will now show where items can be worn.

  - Rangers pray for spells instead of memorizing them.

  - Canibalize now has more favorable conversion ratios.  They start off at 
    approximately 3v:1p and at high levels can reach 1v:2p.
  - Ultrablast received a slight damage boost.
  - Psionic resistance has been modified.  It is now based on a formula which
    takes into account, among other things, the intelligence of the victim and
    the power of the psionicist (what? we found a new use for power?).  If 
    the resist is successful, the damage is modified accordingly.  This same 
    formula has been applied to the mindblast stun chance, which, by the way, 
    is now fixed (i.e. the stun will stick).  In related news...
  - Squid power notches have been adjusted.  Go grab some max_power gear.
04/07/02              What a Drag
  - The old version of drag should be back in.  We'll evaluate the new version 
    and may implement some of it.
04/03/02              Title Clarification and Change
  - Only association leaders and lieutenants can make changes to titles (their 
    own and others).  This makes these people ultimately responsible for any 
    poor choices.
  - Help title has been updated with clarification on what is and isn't allowed
    for titles.  Associations have two weeks (4/17) to get their people in 
    compliance.  If you need your title stripped to change or add a 
    description, petition and one of the admins will remove it for you.

  - You can't stack drags anymore.  However, "drag all.pcorpse" and "drag 
    all.corpse" are functional. We'll see how well it works for a while before

03/31/02            Archery
  - Missile shield was majorly changed. Only +1 (hitroll) arrows can penetrate 
    the shield, normal arrows will simply bounce off. Magic (+1 or better) 
    arrows will all penetrate the shield, but be slowed (thus reducing their 
    damage) based on the +hitroll modifier of the Arrow (not the archer/bow). 
    The scale:
       +1 Arrow = 75% slowed.
       +2 Arrow = 50% slowed.
       +3 Arrow = 25% slowed.
       +4 Arrow = 5% slowed.
       +5 Arrow = not slowed.
    Additionally, +3 or better arrows have a small % chance of breaking the 
    missile shield, causing it to fall. Chance gets better the higher +hitroll 
    of the Arrow.
  - Dragons are affected by arrows again, though it requires a +2 or better 
    arrow to hit them, lesser arrows bounce off.
03/28/02            Reminder
  - In two weeks, on 4/11, all corpses will be destroyed.  This is regardless of
    if they're one month, one week, one day, one hour, or one minute old.  Plan
    your actions before and on that day accordingly.

  - You can now obtain prestige points from defeating certain very high level

03/11/02            Day Of Rotting
  - In one Month (April 11th) at midnight, all player corpses will dissolve.

    This will be regardless of preserve time on them, whether or not they have 
    equipment in them, or how long they've been around. Any equipment in 
    corpses will be lost.

    This means, you have one month to get any corpses you have out now. Get 
    them ressed, get them looted. 
03/10/02            Quest Additions
  - Major changes to Tiamat and the Tiamat-zonelet behind Avernus, balancing
    it against Sojourn 3 mob/player power standards. I and a few others agree
    that Tiamat is definitely doable now, but only by the truely elite kind 
    of players and it will still take 4-8 real hours. You can still very 
    easily fail, but the ridiculous elements of her proc (like insta kill
    on a 1 in 8 chance) have been removed, other aspects downgraded or tuned.
03/06/02            A Whole Slew of Code Changes
  - Some PCs were inadvertently being set to the wrong hometown.  Oops. =) It
    shouldn't happen anymore, but let us know if it does.

2/19/99         Group Object Cache Code
    - What is it? The idea is to let groups manage items obtained by killing
      mobs etc etc.. Each group has a cache visible to each member using
      'glist'. Objects can be added to it by using either 'gget' (when
      getting something from somewhere else) or 'gadd' (when adding stuff
      from inventory).. Things added to the group cache can be removed only
      by the group leader with 'gdel' or 'ggive' (gives item to someone else)
